OPERATION GUIDE

Online Consultation

You will learn everything about your procedures, treatment methods, prices and different kind of packages including pre-surgical experience.

Before The Surgery

  • Stop smoking 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after the surgery. Smoking adversely affects your ability to heal and recover.

  • Stop taking aspirin and blood thinning products, herbal supplements and teas 1 week prior to surgery and 2 weeks after surgery because it may cause reactions during or after surgery, including prolonged bleeding, interference with anaesthesia, cardiovascular disturbances, and interference with the prescription medicine. 

  • If you have ongoing medical issues, you must be cleared for surgery by your primary care physician.

  • The evening prior to surgery, nothing to eat or drink after midnight. 

  • Stop alcohol consumption 1 week before surgery.

  • Eat a light meal a day before the surgery.

  • If you have doubts or a history of anaemia we strongly advise you to do a full blood count by asking your GP prior to your surgery to avoid disappointment and last-minute cancellation.

  • You can have a shower on the morning of the surgery. Please don’t apply makeup, hair gel, hairspray and nail polish.

The Procedure Day

Patients will be at the hospital on their admission time. Our VIP transportation service will accompany you to the hospital in the most comfortable way.

 

Patients do not eat anything including chewing gum 6 hours before the surgery. They only drink small sips equivalent to 30mls per hour of still-clear water up to 2 hours prior to admission.

 

What happens at the hospital:

When you arrive at the hospital where your procedure will be carried out, the preoperative examination will be conducted first.

 

In the preoperative consultation, your surgeon will mark your problematic skin area. After that, hospital nurses will help to get patients settled and ask them to change into their hospital gowns.

 

Some blood tests and examinations can be implemented to be approved to get under anaesthesia. Those may vary depending on the type of surgery and the patient’s condition. In addition, testing might not be required for many aesthetic surgeries not needed to get under anaesthesia, only an examination may be sufficient. Your surgeon will make the final decision on this issue after your consultation. However, it is quite possible that the number of these tests can be changeable to the patient’s condition.

After the Surgery

Following their procedure patients will be brought back to the ward and supplied with something to eat and drink, the nurse will ensure that they are strong enough to go to the toilet on their own before being discharged from the hospital. 

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Do not smoke. Smoking delays healing.

  • Do not swim for 3-4 weeks.

  • Do take all your prescriptions as directed. 

  • Your daily dressing will be done by our professional nurses as long as you stay in Turkey, Istanbul. When you go to your country, you may need to continue daily dressing in line with your doctor’s recommendation.

  • It is important that you should not consume alcohol for 1-2 weeks after the surgery. Alcohol delays wound healing after the surgery.

  • You can eat whatever you want after the surgery when the anaesthesia effect is over. 

  • You may have nausea after the surgery, stomach-protecting and anti-emetic drugs will be given during your stay in the hospital. 

  • You can start brisk walking approximately 2 weeks after the operation, do not do heavy sports before the 4th week is over (unless otherwise stated).

  • Using your corset for the period recommended by your doctor after operations such as tummy tuck, liposuction, and breast aesthetics will directly affect the result.

  • In the recovery period, drinking water is essential for your health. 

Post-op Consultation

Aftercare appointments will be carried out with the nurse will assess the patient’s healing, offering any wound care advice, taking post-operative photos and answering any questions or concerns.

 

OUR POST-OP SERVICES

After your transfer to your hotel with our VIP service. You will experience our FAST recovery(functional, accurate, safe, treatment) program specially prepared for you as we aim to return you to your routine as quickly as possible.

This program includes;

  • Daily dressing and wound care

  • Medications (antibiotics, painkillers, dressing cream, multivitamin support)

  • Daily massage (for liposuction patients)

  • Showing and tracking the daily walking and movements you need to do

  • Communication with the patient coordinator 24/7 during your stay in Istanbul

This recovery scheme has been made for you to regain your health as soon as possible and fully prepare you for your journey.

Control Consultation

This typically takes place between 6 weeks and 6 months post-op and patients may be offered online consultation. The surgeon will review the patient’s results, offer any further aftercare advice and give a final sign-off.

 

In this process, you will be able to ask any question that comes to your mind to your surgeon using your patient experience coordinator. You can be sure that we will follow your process closely and do our best to end your experience as happily as possible!

 

The results of the surgery differ from person to person; It depends due to reasons such as genetics, alcohol and smoking, healing disorders, and prolonged oedema. For the final result, 6-12 months should pass and the recovery should be completed. However, in cases where there is patient dissatisfaction; If it will be necessary, discounts will be provided at the rates determined for revision surgeries.
